Discover Waitomo’s wonders through our Education Centre. From glowworm biology to hands-on geology, students enjoy interactive, curriculum-linked learning in the heart of the caves. Our programmes also explore Māori artefacts and stories, connecting culture, history, and science to the unique Waitomo environment.

Education services are available at a special rate of $5.50 per student for daycare, primary and secondary, offering access to our curriculum-linked programmes and museum facilities.

We also focus on the region’s incredible native wildlife, from glowworms and cave-dwelling species to iconic taonga such as kiwi, tuatara, and wētā.
Students explore how these unique creatures have adapted to their environments, the challenges they face, and the vital conservation work being carried out to protect them.
